Larval microbiology:

Larval microbiology deals with human diseases caused by the parasitic larvae. Parasitic infections that man gets from animals are termed as zoonotic infections or zoonoses. In zoonoses, human infections are only accidental proceedings and the parasite is not advantageous as the chain of transmission is generally broken with human infection. Malaria and filaria are illustrations. The term Zooanthroponoses refers to infections in which man is not just an incidental host though a necessary link in the life cycle of the parasite (example, Beef and pork tapeworm).
