Isomerism:

Compounds having similar chemical formula however different physical and chemical properties due to different structural arrangements are termed as isomers.

This phenomenon is termed as isomerism.

Coordination compounds exhibit two major kinds of isomerism, that is,

(A) Structural isomerism and
(B) Stereoisomerism (i.e., space isomerism).

Structural isomerism:

a) Coordination isomerism
b) Ionization isomerism
c) Solvate or Hydrate isomerism
d) Linkage isomerism
e) Ligand Isomerism

Stereoisomerism:

a) Geometrical isomerism
b) Optical isomerism
