Permanent Partial Disability - Injury from an Accident
Permanent partial disability restrains the worker by doing the job he has been doing. He recovers from the injury in the sense that he can do some types of other job often less strenuous, or requiring lesser skill for which he may have to be trained. These disabilities are further categorized as schedule or non schedule. Schedule injuries include loss of a ringer, toe, hand, arm, foot, eye and ear or ears. The compensation and wage after returning to a lesser job are defined in the schedule. A non schedule injury is less particular like disfigurement or head injury. The compensation, the sort of work on resumption of duty and wages are decided on case to case basis.
Permanent Total Disability
Such injury that incapacitates the worker from any work in foreseeable future is termed permanent total disability. The compensation in majority of cases may be provided for rest of life. The loss of both the eyes, both hands or feet or one foot and one hand are involved in permanent total disability.
