Accidents Resulting in Death
Accidents that cause death are dealt with in a different way. The law requires full compensation to the widow for complete life or until remarriage and to the children until they reach the age of 18 years. Compensation might be monetary or job to widow or to one of the children. Accidents of all kinds may take place in industry. It is usually found that the commonest cause of death up to age of 24 years is accident. Several people in the age group of teenage to 45 years die of accidents. US (United State) department of Commerce lists ten causes of death which are: suicide, heart diseases, malignancy, pneumonia and flu, diabetes, arteriosclerosis, cardiovascular diseases, cirrhosis of liver, infancy diseases and accidents.
Accidents, as mentioned earlier, seem to be leading cause of death, even though unfortunately many are not reported or recorded. In industrial environment, in particular, the death due to accidents has been interpreted in several ways. It would be of interest to note that the causes of death in industrial accidents have been various. Those that were established and confirmed throughout last few years are related to - air transport, water transport, poison, motor vehicle, falls, electric shock, drowning, fire, machinery, falling objects, rail transport and mechanical suffocation.
