Discuss stimuli accompanying the presentation of food

Problem: Rewrite the following in a few simple sentences: A stimulus which has acquired the stimulus control described in the preceding section may also be a reinforcer; that is, it may be used to condition further behavior. Such a stimulus is an example of a conditioned reinforcer. The reinforcing stimuli which are made contingent upon behavior in the present experiment are all conditioned. The stimuli accompanying the presentation of food are made conditioned reinforcers through an explicit process described in Chapter Three. Unconditioned stimuli almost invariably follow. The conditioned reinforcers, such as a light or buzzer, are useful because they can be made contingent on a particular form of a response. A discriminative stimulus as a reinforcer assumes special importance in the chaining of behavior when a response produces a stimulus which is the discriminative stimulus for another response. This condition is explicitly arranged in some of the experiments which follow, and is indirectly arranged by many schedules of reinforcement, as will be shown in later chapters.
