Problem:
The area of application I chose is clinical psychology, based on Miltenberger (1989). I was drawn to this field because I am currently studying to become a faith-based licensed marriage and family counselor. Clinical psychology focuses on using psychological principles and techniques to help people with personal, emotional, and behavioral problems. This usually takes place through individual or group therapy led by a trained psychologist. Behavior modification in clinical psychology, often called behavior therapy, has been used to treat many types of problems, such as anxiety, depression, and relationship challenges (Hersen & Bellack, 1985; Hersen & Rosqvist, 2005; Hersen & Van Hasselt, 1987; Ortiz et al., 2022; Spiegler & Guevremont, 2010; Turner et al., 1981). These methods focus on identifying behaviors that need to change and using proven strategies to encourage healthier choices. Behavior modification techniques are also used to train clinical psychologists, showing how important these principles are in both learning and practice (Veltum & Miltenberger, 1989). From a biblical perspective, this field connects with the call to care for others with love and wisdom, as Scripture reminds us to "carry each other's burdens" (Galatians 6:2, NIV), which aligns with helping individuals and families experience healing and growth through compassionate, ethical counseling. Dose anyone else have the same perspective? Need Assignment Help?
