Types of WBC:

a). Neutrophils:

These are the most general type of leucocytes (60 to 70%) in the blood. Their nuclei can take place in more than one form. Therefore they are termed as polymorphonuclear neutrophils (i.e., PMN).

b). Eosinophils (0.5 to 3.0%):

They are motile cells which leave the circulation to enter the tissues throughout an inflammatory reaction. During allergy reaction their number rises.

c). Basophils (0.1%):

They play a position in allergic and inflammatory reaction. They have heparin that inhibits blood clotting.

d). Lymphocytes (20 to 30%):

These are the smallest leucocytes. They are more general in lymphatic tissues viz. the spleen, lymph nodes, tonsils and thymus. Lymphocytes, termed as B-cells can make proteins termed as antibodies which can get attached to the bacteria and destroy them. T-cells protect us against viruses by offensive and destroying cells in which viruses are replicate.

e). Monocytes (1 to 4%):

These are largest leucocytes. It destroys bacteria, dead cells and cell fragments. During the chronic infection their number rises.
