Puberty:

Puberty is a procedure in sexual development. Once puberty is arrived, sperms are manufactured endlessly in the two testes at a rate of around 125 million each day. Puberty takes place between age 12-15 Hormones secreted by the pituitary cause levels of the male sex hormone testosterone to rise, stimulating modifications like general growth, and the development of secondary sexual characters.

Transport of spermatozoa:

For reproduction to occur, the sperm should be transported to the female reproductive system. The mature spermatozoa which are formed leave each testis via an epididymis, a long coiled tube which lies above and behind each testis. The sperms are stored in the epididymis and at times pushed into the vasdeferens the tube which connects an epididymis to an ejaculatory duct. Throughout sexual activity each vas deferens, contracts and pushes the sperm toward urethra, the tube which connects the bladder to the exterior of the body. The sperms are fetched in a fluid consisting of secretions from different glands forming a thick seminal fluid or semen.

Semen is a milky mucoid fluid that has sperms (around 50 million in single ejaculate) plus seminal plasma made of secretions of the seminal vesicles, prostate, Cowper’s gland and bulbo - urethral glands. Semen gives nutrient which help to keep the sperm healthy and also serves up as a medium for the spermatozoa to swim.

During stimulation, the penis gets enlarged and becomes solid. Muscular contraction of the penis then forces the sperm via the male urethra into the vagina during male orgasm.
