Standard free energy (G°):

Similar to standard enthalpy of formation of substances, the standard enthalpy change of a reaction, standard free energy of formation of the substances and standard free energy alter of reactions are considered. The standard free energy value (G°) of all substances either elements or compounds might be computed from H° and S° values at standard conditions of temperature (i.e., 298 K) and pressure (i.e., 1 atm) and the substance being existed in the standard state.

That is, G° = H° – TS°

Standard free energies of formation of elements are obtained as zero. Therefore, standard free energy change of a reaction that is stoichiometrically balanced is equivalent to the difference among the total sum of the standard free energies of products and the net sum of the standard free energies of reactants, at standard circumstances.

ΔG°reaction = ΣG° product – ΣG° reactants

ΔG°reaction can also be computed from ΔH°reaction and ΔS°reaction values. ΔH°reaction and ΔS°reaction can be computed from H°f and S° values of respective product and reactant molecules at constant pressure and temperature.
