The carbon cycle:

In nature, carbon presents in the form of inorganic and complex organic compounds. In atmosphere the concentration of CO2 is only 0.32 % that is less than what is neeeded by plants for photosynthesis.

The CO2 is the major source of carbon needed to build the organic world. The CO2 returns back into the atmosphere via the procedure of respiration by all groups of organisms. The other technique of returning carbon is via degradation (i.e., decomposition) of organic matter by microorganisms. A simplified carbon cycle is specified in Figure shown below:
