Lecithins are as known as phosphatidyl choline. The choline that is thecomponent of lecithins is derived via the stepwise methylation of ethanolamine that in turn is created through the decarboxylation of serine. Serine is obtained from the pathways of both carbohydrate and protein metabolism as displayed below.
