Preparation:

Whenever NaHCO3 is added to the Zinc sulphate solution, ZnCO3 is acquired.

ZnSO4 + 2NaHCO3 → ZnCO3 + Na2SO4 + H2O + CO2

It is a white powder, and insoluble in water.

Action of Heat:

On heating at around 300°C, Zinc carbonate decomposes into Zinc oxide & carbon dioxide
