The various sources of the recruitment are usually categorized as internal source and external source.

(a) Internal Sources : This refers to recruitment from in company. The various internal sources are promotion, past employees, transfer and internal advertisement.

(b) External Sources : External sources refer to practice of getting appropriate persons from outside. The various external sources are advertisement, employment exchange, past employees, consultants, walks-ins, campus recruitment, trade unions, and so forth.
