Write perspective on the different geographic places

Problem:

What response would you give back to this peer's discussion post?

I was raised in both rural and urban environments, which gave me a unique perspective on the different geographic places discussed in the textbook. Some of my summers were spent in a very rural setting with my uncle, who lived off-grid on 80 acres in the mountains of southern Oregon. During those times, daily life required a high level of self-sufficiency, including getting water, treating it properly, and being mindful of how resources were used. Overall, this was a positive experience because it taught me independence, problem-solving, and an appreciation for what it takes to sustain yourself without relying heavily on outside systems.

In contrast, I also grew up in a large city, Portland, Oregon. Living there was a very different experience. There were no school buses for high school students, so we relied on city public transportation to get to and from school. While this environment offered convenience and access to services, it also felt more crowded and less personal. Experiencing both settings helped me understand the advantages and challenges of each.

Currently, a rural lifestyle best fits me. After retiring and purchasing my home, I intentionally chose a property with at least an acre of land. I wanted space for my kids to play, room to enjoy the outdoors, and most importantly, distance from neighbors. Having privacy and not being able to hear or be heard by those around me contributes greatly to my sense of comfort and quality of life. The self-sufficiency and space I valued growing up continue to shape how I choose to live today. Need Assignment Help?
