Problem: Respecting children is a very important part of the workplace. Just like any workplace they are people and they deserve respect as well. An example of being respectful of children is making eye contact with them which I am always sure to do. I think the best thing you can do for a child or anyone for that matter is be present when they are speaking to you or interacting with you. Another good example of respecting a child in the workplace is when you show interest in what they are doing. The children I work with really enjoy when the adults around them are intrigued by what they have to show you. The third and final example I will discuss is recognizing the child's accomplishments. As I discussed before the children are always super excited to show you and tell you what they are working on so the respectful thing to do is to recognize them for what they are or have accomplished. An example of disrespect that I run into quite frequently is making it evident when you are under stress.
