Problem: The aim of this study was to assess intelligence and personality and their interaction in predicting academic performance in an Australian context (Heaven & Ciarrochi, 2012). students from UoA between the ages of 18 to 50 years. An online test to measure intelligence and a supervised paper and pencil test to measure Extraversion and Conscientiousness along with an index of AP was completed. It was found that Conscientiousness showed positive correlation with AP. However, neither IQ nor Extraversion demonstrated a strong relationship with AP. It was also found that correlations among the predictors were minimal and weaker, indicating that the effects observed are unlikely due to overlap in variance among the traits.
