What would be good questions to ask in our interviews

Problem

A good interview begins with good questions from the interviewer. And, good questions start with lots of preparation. For this Discussion Board exercise, we will be sharing our thoughts on what would be good questions to ask in our interviews. Of course, the questions will differ depending on the job description and industry of the interviewee. So, state in the beginning of your DB response the industry and position (but NOT the name) of the person you probably will be interviewing. Remember, we are interviewing someone in a business-to-business purchasing, marketing or channel activity about concepts in this course.

As discussed in the Project instructions, the interview should cover appropriate course concepts and material depending on the person being interviewed. In your discussion board response, you are to include 4-5 questions you plan to ask plus why you feel that these questions are interesting and appropriate for your specific interview. Other students will list other questions. And still other students will list questions. Soon we will have a comprehensive list of likely questions covering major portions of the course material. In addition, those students who have done this type of project before may want to relate some of their experiences and advice to help the rest of the class with interviewing. For your actual interview, whittle your comprehensive list of questions down to about 15-20 questions you would like to ask your interviewee. You may not get to all of these questions in your interview, but you will have them in case you need them to keep the conversation going and keep it on track. Hopefully, the end result of this discussion is that each student is better prepared to conduct his or her interview for the Project.
