To support the problem space for my dissertation examining whether the duration of pairing affects compliance and instructional outcomes during acquisition training for children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), I will rely primarily on scholarly, peer-reviewed resources. These include empirical research articles, systematic reviews, and meta-analyses published in reputable journals related to applied behavior analysis (ABA), special education, and developmental psychology. Foundational theoretical literature and evidence-based practice guidelines will also be important for establishing conceptual and methodological grounding.
Effective search strategies include using academic databases such as the GCU Library, ERIC, PsycINFO, PubMed, and Google Scholar. I am still developing my skills in conducting advanced literature searches; however, I consistently evaluate the credibility, fidelity, and peer-reviewed status of sources before incorporating them. Additional strategies include using Boolean operators, reviewing reference lists of seminal studies, filtering results by publication date, and prioritizing studies with strong methodological rigor and relevance to ASD populations.
