To further develop my problem space for my study it will be crucial to ensure a more in-depth synthesis of selected empirical articles while practicing a more strategic critical analysis of the literature. Integrating "back referencing" while exploring the literature, will perhaps assist with gaining more understanding of the historical background and the investigation of previous knowledge that been compiled (Farooq, 2017). Integrating advanced searches to obtain literature from more specific sources with more psychological focus, will continue to be beneficial in identifying appropriate empirical articles, which in the past made it difficult to narrow the topic down due to utilizing various journals referencing my potential topic. I have since implementing searches from Psych Net, Jstor, Science Direct, GCU Library Databases, such as Sage and other psychological based sites, ProQuest Dissertations and Google Scholar; these have been helpful. Keywords for my searches are perceived stigma, self-stigma, college students, and help seeking behaviors. To further strengthening the problem space in my potential study, it is imperative that I am more precise in my explanation of how the problem space addresses the past research and how it connects to my future research ideas research that advances what has already been established (Perks, 2020).
