The process of doing dissertation and the details are as below.

The main idea of the Project is Simultaneous localisation and mapping using Kinect Sensor Using the Kinect Sensor(RGB D Data) develop an algorithm(SLAM) to build the 3D Map of the environment an locate itself(estimate the pose of the camera and the trajectory) and would like incorporate on to the Pioneer Robot which moves around the lab with avoiding obstacle

The algorithm to be built is either Feature Detection and tracking or Key frame mapping.

The options I have explored is to use

1)Kinect SDK+ Microsoft Visual Studio+ C++or C#(WPF)(MRPT Libraries as an option)

2) ROS+ C++ I would need assistance in choosing the right algorithm to be implemented reasonably within the available time(deadline 30/07/2014) and also in the implementation part i.e coding
