Meet with Sophia for session, she was excited about going out shopping at five and below, Sophia described wanting to look at makeup and nail care items. Sophia was reminded that he team would like for to wear age appropriate clothing and refrain from getting long nails. Sophia complained about DCPP always trying to run her life. This writer asked what could be different and Sophia stated if it was her adoptive mother that was making the choices that she wouldn't care. Sophia stated that Ms. Robin tells her all the time, that she can express herself by wearing what she wants at any given time. This writer reminded Sophia that when she goes on to potentially live with Sophia, there will be rules that she will need to follow both in the home as well as at school. Sophia continues to verbalize that Ms. Robin told her that she can basically do what she wants there will be no rules until Ms. Robin feels like there is a need for rules. This writer advised Sophia that there may be a need to discuss further in family therapy about rules and expectations so that Sophia is clear and less of a chance of a home pass or visit failing when a disagreement arises. Sophia reports doing well in the cottage although staff reports there is a continuation of bullying a specific peer who is lower functioning. We discussed positive ways to interact with peers, as well as wasy to avoid conflict or arguments.
