Met with youth for session, youth described having a rough day in school discussed getting into an argument with peers in her class over gossiping. Sophia was reminded that she needs to refrain from gossiping and meddling in other peoples business. Prior to session met with Sophia and Ms. Robin for family session. Family session was spent discussing more bonding and connection activities. We discussed potentially having an in person session, so that Sophia and Ms. Robin can connect more. Sophia stated that she is unsure how to feel about potentially being adopted by Ms. Robin as they are so different from each other. Sophia described Ms. Robin as single and possibly dating someone of the same sex. She expressed not knowing how she would fit in to a situation like that. This writer asked Sophia to think about ways in which she would be affected by Ms. Robin dating someone of the same sex. She stated that she is not sure how people would look at them, I asked Sophia if she wanted to bring this topic up in our next family session since she is thinking about it. She denied this request, we also spoke about assuming things to be true or factual without actually knowing. Sophia stated that she wouldn't know how to talk about this topic, this writer advised Sophia that if she was troubled by it or had further questions it's something I can bring up in session. We talked about dating relationships and what's considered to be a healthy positive relationship. Sophia expressed that she is no longer dating the same youth she was previously dating but now talking to someone else.
