SCLEROTIC -

  1. White of eye. Outer thick, made up of fibres connective tissue. Protective layer. Give definite shape.
  2. Its anterior 1/6 part is thin, transparent known as cornea. Posterior 5/6 part is thick, non-transparent i.e. sclera.
  3. Epidermis is thinnest in cornea (conjuctiva). It refracts rays.
  4. Blood vessels are absent but at the corner of cornea blood vessels are present.
  5. Circular junction line between sclera and cornea is limbus.
  6. Due to abnormal curvature of cornea astigmatism is caused
  7. Cylindrical lense is recomonded. In frog sclerotic is cartilaginous in nature.
