EYE
HISTORY -
Stevan described it first. Study of eye is ophthalmology. Instrument used to examine interior of eye is ophthalmoscope.
SHAPE -
More or less spherical so termed as eye ball.
POSITION -
Situated in the eye orbit 1/5 part is out of eye orbit. Between eye ball and orbit are connective tissue, adipose tissue, ligaments, muscles and glandular tissues are present.
SIZE -
2.5 cm in diameter. Largest eye in mammal present in horse (In ratio of body in deer). Largest eye in animals present in giant squid (Archeuthis ) 15" in diameter.
