Psychological reactions to physical changes in adolescents

In adolescents some psychological reactions to physical changes such as puberty which would include growth spurts, hormonal shifts and secondary sex characteristics, are body image and self-consciousness, emotional and mood shifts. These changes occur as the body reacts to new feelings and the reactions can be mild to high identity shifts. There could also be reactions such as identity confusion as the childhood self goes away the adolescent integrates a new identity.
