Problem: Rotter's Locus of Control: Using Rotter's theory, Chris appears to operate with a more external locus of control. She seems stuck in the past and angry that people no longer respond to her the way they once did. When things don't go her way, she often blames others or the situation, rather than adjusting her own behavior. This contributes to feelings of loneliness and loss, especially as her surroundings and relationships change (Rotter, 1966). I lean more toward an internal locus of control. I recognize that I can choose how I respond, even when others don't change. In similar situations, I am more likely to remove myself, reflect, and protect my emotional well-being. These different locus of control help explain why we respond so differently to the same kinds of stressors (Rotter, 1966). Offer response. Need Assignment Help?
