In this week's material, you were introduced to Linda who is the manager at the Heartland Community Center. Linda has implemented a drug treatment program because she saw the need for such in the community. Looking at this situation sociologically, the social norm regarding addiction of any sort is that behavior is deviant. As a matter of fact, we are socialized from a young age not to do these deviant behaviors. Yet, today, addiction is a major social issue.
