Mortality odds ratio is the ratio equivalent to the odds ratio used in case-control studies where the equivalent of the cases are deaths from the cause of interest and the equivalent of controls are deaths from all the other causes. Finally the equivalent of the exposure is membership of a study group of interest, for instance, a particular occupation group.
