Mixture experiment is an experiment in which the two or more ingredients are blended together to form an end product. The measurements are taken on the several blends of the ingredients in an attempt to find the blend which produces the 'best' response. The measured response is supposed to be a function only of the components in mixture and not the function of the entire amount of the mixture.
