Problem: This patient was admitted to the hospital for evaluation and management of an acute ischemic cerebrovascular accident after presenting with sudden onset of focal neurological deficits, including weakness and speech difficulty. Initial neuroimaging and clinical examination were consistent with an acute ischemic stroke without evidence of intracranial hemorrhage. The patient was admitted for neurological monitoring, stroke protocol, secondary stroke prevention, blood pressure management, rehabilitation evaluation, and further diagnostic workup to determine the underlying etiology.
