Listing one person with whom you have a relationship

Problem: • Begin by listing one person with whom you have a relationship. This would include a family member, a friend, co-worker, neighbor, or a church or club friend. You can continue to work on this intervention over time. • Identify the individual Character Strengths they have. You can refer to the list from the previous Positive Psychology Virtues Exercise. Write a sentence or two giving an example of when or how they demonstrated the character strength. • Describe how that relationship affects you. Is it positive, uplifting, energizing, or does that relationship lead to worry, anxiety, or depression? Or is it neutral? Perhaps write a sentence or two describing an actual example of a relationship interaction. • Now ask, "Would I like to make this relationship stronger?" If yes, what are some ideas to accomplish this? Enhancing a relationship does not happen by chance. You need to choose action and engage in it. o send a greeting card or email, o send a letter of gratitude for some past behavior of theirs, o arrange a visit, a meal, or a trip/outing together, o plan to read and discuss a book together. o Consider offering to help them with a project or a dilemma or ask them for help with a project or a dilemma. o When interacting with them, what can you do to deepen the conversation? Bring up personal, meaningful topics and discuss them with openness and honesty. o (250 - 350 words) Need Assignment Help?
