Formal and informal education has helped influence me within my pursuit of education in many different ways. I'm studying psychology and learning through formal education has taught me a lot about human behavior, development and the way the brain and mind all work together. By being given assignments, quizzes, notes etc, I have learned more and more about those topics and it makes me think more critically. These factors will hopefully continue to lead me to taking in this information and becoming successful. Informal education has helped me see the things I learned play out in real life. For example when I learn about the different stages a child goes through, once I'm around babies I can point that out and it all makes sense to me even more. Or when talking about emotions, seeing it play out within friends and family is also cool and very educational because it helps me become more empathetic towards others after thinking about why or how they feel that way. In my experience, I have witnessed universal learning in my classrooms that I have taken. I have taken online courses and in person classes, and throughout both I realized different things. For example, some people such as myself would rather be taught in person and face to face with hands on. it helps me learn better, but there are also people who would prefer doing it on their own. With PowerPoint, zoom calls etc. I think it is affective because anyone is given the opportunity to learn the way they want to, at their own pace.
