Discuss aspects of cultures that differ from one another

Problem: What would be a proper response to the below post and a follow up question?

Hi class,

There are so many aspects of cultures that differ from one another, and it can very much complicate things between parties. Relationships, whether in business or personal, can be tested. Even if one party has the best intentions, it may come across very rude to the receiving party.

One example is if someone is greeting someone else with a handshake. In the US, a firm handshake is one of the best ways to greet someone; but in some cultures like Saudi Arabia, physical touch between males and females is avoided (Toll, n.d.). If a US business man shook a woman from Saudi Arabia's hand, the woman may feel the need to avoid the handshake. This would be uncomfortable for all parties and may impact a business deal. If only both parties would have read up on the other's cultural norms beforehand, this could've been avoided.

One greeting I found interesting is in Tibet; sticking out your tongue can be a welcoming gesture (Toll, n.d.). This surely could make someone uncomfortable in a business meeting if they were unaware of the culture. Need Assignment Help?
