Problem:
I received a 3700$ National Endowment for the Humanities grant for high school teachers for a 3 week philosophy course at the University of Virginia in July 2011. I didn't recieve a tax form, no taxes were taken out. The grant covered room, board, books, travel, and other expenses. I haven't filed my taxes yet because I've yet to figure out how to handle this on my tax forms. The information I find from NEH just says they don't send out forms and it may or may not be taxable, refer me to publication 970, which provides little clarity. I use Turbo Tax.
