Did the original ship move from existence to non-existence

Assignment task:

You are sailing in a wooden ship, and as you sail, the ship begins to take damage at the same spot in the ocean, because there are treacherous waters at that location. As a result, you have to stop and buy new wood to replace the damaged wood at various ports. Also, the wood that broke off of the ship floats to an island, and a person there reassembles the ship piece by piece. By the time you reach your destination, each part of the ship has been replaced, but the ship looks exactly the same as it did when you began your voyage. Also, the person reassembling the ship from the broken pieces has completely rebuilt the ship.

Consider the following

1. Did the original ship move from existence to non-existence during your repairs?

2. If so, at what point did the original ship cease to exist? If no, then how can it be the same ship considering the change it has undergone?

3. Which ship is the real/actual ship you started out on?

4. What would Heraclitus and Parmenides argue?
