Problem:
Can the self-its declarative part or its procedural part-be changed? Has your view of yourself ever changed? How did that come about? What kinds of experiences can change a person's self-image? I believe it can be changed as much as we have control over our settings and how they condition us as individual beings. I grew up with substantially lower self-esteem than I currently have now. I feel like a major factor to what improved my self-esteem was changing my environment. I grew up in a rural area wherein strict patriarchal standards influenced the way I viewed myself, my worth, and my experiences as a woman. I was able to build a different sense of community than the one I had grown up with, which wasn't entirely fruitful for me. If someone grows up in a community where they feel as though they don't belong, it can hinder their self-image until they find a place where they feel a sense of belonging. Need Assignment Help?
