Problem: Do you know anyone who has too little or too much self-esteem? How do you think this came about? Is it due to how the person was raised, society, or some other factor? I think we can look to our current administration when we think of someone who has too much self-esteem. It would appear that yes, being raised to believe one is superior will play a role in shaping how someone will grow up and treat others in the future. It's also fair to suggest that the dehumanization model of 'dog eats dog' on steroids will reinforce the "I" self at the expense of the "Me" self. Toxic individualism drives a further wedge between the "I" self and "me" self, and we see this with how some of our politicians implement policy and who it's continuing to benefit.
