Exhibition Review:

6 pages, double spaced, 12 point, Chicago manual of style

Please visit either the AGO (Art Gallery of Ontario, Canada) First Nations AND African galleries and discuss the manner in which these arts are presented vis a vis larger histories of modernity. How does their presentation relate to questions of Primitivism we have been discussing in class?

You might want to consider the label texts available (or not in evidence at all), the manner of hanging, enclosing, lighting, and displaying of the works. What do these methods of display tell you about the relationship between these cultures and histories of modernity and modernism?

The first PDF, “AGO_First Nations and African galleries.pdf” records my whole tour of the galleries including “North American and African indigenous galleries and their booklets”

The second PDF, “Art Works.pdf” are the closed ups of the art works that I took picture of. Some of them have labels and some of them don’t.
