Angina is a term which explains a strangling or constrictive pain. Angina has become synonymous with heart disorder known as Angina pectoris. This heart disorder refers to chest pain caused by inadequate supply of oxygen to the heart muscle, generally an outcome of poor blood supply.  Angina pectoris generally takes place when the demand for oxygen is raised during exercise and at the time of stress. (4). Thyrotoxicosis (i.e., a disorder caused by excessive secretion of thyroxine) can precipitate angina pectoris by building the heart work harder and quicker than its blood supply will allow.
