Representation Format of An Object
As we know that the object oriented approach treats data as a critical element in the development phases and does not allow it to flow freely around the system.
It tries data more closely to the functions that operate on it and protects it from unintentional modifications by other functions. The paradigm allows us to decompose a problem into a number of entities called objects and then build data and functions. The data of an objects can only be accessed by the methods associated with that objects. However one subject can access methods of other objects. In fig 7.2 an object representation is shown which consists of data and methods to build itself.
We can better understand the object representation with the help of an example. Consider an employee of a company whose name and basic pay are considered as his data and salary( ) and tax ( ) are the methods. It is shown diagram mimetically in the fig 7.3
Objects are the basic run time entities in an object oriented system. Any problem is analyzed in terms of objects and nature of communication between them. Each object contains data and code to manipulate the data. Objects can interact without having to know the details of each other's data or code.
