A data warehouse is a separate data environment  that is not directly integrated with day to day application but encompasses all data  used by a business. 1. Stakeholder Communication: The architecture is a high level presentation of the system may  be used by different  stakeholders for  discussion purpose.

2. System Analysis: The system architecture can  be made at an early stage of system analysis. Architectural design decisions are made to check the system that it can meet critical requirements such  as performance, reliability and maintainability or not.

3. Large Scale  Reuse: A system  architecture is a compact manageable description of how  a system is organised and how  the  components inter operate. The architecture can be  transferred across systems with  similar requirements  and so  support large scale software reuse.
