1. The TV receiver is switched ON firstly.

2. There is no picture on the screen except red retrace lines appear on the screen.

3. Switch OFF the receiver instantaneously and verify red retrace lines fault on the receiver.

Test the stages of the TV Receiver:

1. The TV receiver is switched ON firstly.

2. Merely red retrace lines appear on the Screen.

3. Compute the voltage at the red cathode if the voltage is low.

4. Test the components related to red cathode.

5. Test the IC and transistors related to red cathode.

6. Test the picture tube base.

7.  If the base of the picture tube is fault, remove and solder the new one.
