In drawing this type of winding, the slots are numbered 1 to 24 and the long and short sides are alternatively drawn, as displayed in the diagram (3 phase 2 pole 24 slots single layer winding main winding diagram (Mush winding)).

If the 1st phase, say R or A phase starts at slot number2, the Y or B phase should start at 1200/150 = 8 slots away that is, in slot number (2 + 8 =) 10, and the B or C phase should start at (10 + 8 =) 18.

Slots per pole per phase = 24/(3*2) = 4.                                       

So a phase group has 4 slots.

Coil span = 24/2 = 12 slots. This is an even number and therefore winding is not probable with a coil span of 12 slots. Thus a coil span of 11 slots is employed.

Starting R phase in slot number 2, the coil side in slot number 2 is connected to the coil side (2 + 11=) 13. The coil side 14 is connected to coil side (14 + 11 =) 25, that is, 1. The coil groups are connected in such a way that their emfs add. The windings of the other phases are as well likewise completed.

The current directions that is marked in diagram (3 phase 2 pole 24 slots single layer winding main winding diagram (Mush winding)), is an arbitrary direction at any instant.
