Dark reactions

Dark reactions:

The reactions which catalyze the reduction of CO2 to carbohydrates along with the assistance of the ATP and NADPH2 produced through the light reactions are termed as the dark reactions. The enzymatic reduction of CO2 through these reactions is as well termed as carbon fixation. These reactions which result in CO2 fixation occur in a cyclic way and were discovered through the Melvin Calvin. Therefore, the cycle is known as Calvin cycle.
