Commensalism refers to the relation between members of various species only. One is benefited without any consequence on another. Some general examples are as follows:

a) Lianes:

Lianes are general in dense forests of moist tropical climates. They sustain no direct nutritional relationship with the trees on which they grow. On the basis of the kind of device employed for climbing their support, lianes might be leaners, twiners or tendril lianes, thorn lianes. General lianes are species of Ficus, Bauhinia and Tinospora.

b) Epiphytes:
