Type of pollen entry:
Pollen tube enters the ovule either via the micropyle (Porogamy example: Lily), Chalaza (Chalazogamy example: Cauarinas) or the integuments (Mesogamy example: cucurbita) and releases the two male gametes or sperms into the embryo sac. The pollen tube bores via nucleus and lastly penetrates the wall of the embryo sac. This passes between a synergid and the egg cell or penetrates among the two synergids. Afterward one or both of the synergids degenerate. Within the embryo sac, the pollen tube ruptures and the two male gametes are set free close to the egg apparatus.
