You are a division manager in a company that has no fraternization policy. You are in charge of contract employees and employees at will. Senior managers cannot date employees who work for them directly and anyone repeatedly dating someone is required to file a form with HR. You will sixty (60) employees in your charge and usually do not believe in strict enforcement of the rule, especially since 95% of the staff has been putting in sixty (60) hours weeks for the last three (3) months. Spring is in the air and two (2) managers are dating employees they are in charge of. At least eight (8) people in the unit are constant companions and you know six (6) of them have not filed the required form. Two (2) of your employees are dating everyone they can. This information has been obtained from email evaluations. Lately much disharmony has been noted, especially in group meetings. What should you do? Over what time frame should you do it? Who is responsible for this mess?
