Intro
For my term paper, I chose to research and write about the effects of parenting on marriage. The topic I chose is related to parents and child-rearing. This topic on the effects of parenting on marriage is important because it is important to prevent parental conflicts, it helps promote the emotional, social, and cognitive development of children, while also knowing how to create a safe, consistent, and nurturing family environment, and finally, how to adapt parenting styles according to the culture and circumstances in which the parents find themselves, or also depending on the family circumstances. Similarly, the state of the marriage will influence how they raise their children. As in the article, Huang et al. they examined the impacts that marital happiness has among parents and how it benefits children at the same time. They also talked about how parenting styles are related to marital happiness, in which they conducted a study analyzing parents who had children in third grade and investigated marital happiness. They found that marital happiness was better and favored an authoritative parenting style and negatively with a harsh parenting style. They talk to us about the importance of parents' marital happiness in providing healthy development for children, and it is important that parents know about and have access to intervention programs that help child well-being, and how public resources should increase awareness of marital happiness and offer guidance and support so that parents can have a high-quality relationship that helps their marriage and children grow in a healthy way and learn how to create a safe, consistent, and nurturing family environment. The subtopics I chose are: communication and conflict resolution, parental roles and task distribution, and parental stress and the parents' emotional well-being. The theory related to my topic is Family System Theory, since the theory talks about the integrity and independence within families, so that when the integrity of a family is compromised at some point, if the integrity of the parents or the family itself is affected, it impacts all other members to a certain extent. Another topic discussed in this theory is reciprocal interaction and feedback, in which family members influence each other's actions, creating a chain of interactions.

As I mentioned earlier, I chose the following subtopics: communication and conflict resolution, parental roles and task distribution, and parental stress and the parents' emotional well-being. In which I found how parents who have children with ADHD face low material satisfaction, since by focusing on their child's susceptibility, their marriage can decline or there may be a mismatch in family dynamics. In which parental stress and family self-efficacy were examined, participants were given a questionnaire with questions about their parental self-efficacy, material satisfaction, and their parental stress. In which they found that parents who had children with ADHD reported higher parental stress, as well as lower self-efficacy and lower marital satisfaction than parents who did not have children with ADHD. At the same time, it is also related to personal characteristics and the situation when facing stress and difficulties, and how to handle them, and having a plan or something that helps them have better marital satisfaction and raise their child with ADHD. They had three strategies for conflict resolution, such as destructive interparental conflict and constructive conflict, partner violence, and the crossover and reactions between parent and child, as well as child abuse. They investigated families that had children with ethnic worldviews and family diversity.In which they provided the specific behaviors of how they handled family conflicts and comments on what caused effectiveness or what caused the lack of effectiveness in managing conflicts. At the same time, programs that were focused on their intervention and on how they focus on improving family well-being. And, finally, they took note of suggestions for future research.
