Write down your own philosophy of life

Problem

Exercise I

Write down your own philosophy of life. List ten basic beliefs that are most important to you. Describe how you decided on each of these beliefs and how you practice each of these beliefs in your everyday life.

Exercise II

You are very poor (or rich), very ugly (or beautiful), or very weak (or powerful). Build a philosophy of life based on this type of experience, listing ten beliefs that might be most important to someone from this viewpoint. Think about these experiences from another viewpoint. You might think of this exercise as a "what if" exercise. "What if I was very poor?" "What if I was very weak?" Which philosopher ( poor/rich, ugley/beautiful, or weak/powerful) asks this question of his students?

Exercise III

Compare your philosophy of life with the philosophy you created in Exercise II. Describe how the two philosophies are the same? How are they different? This is known as "compare and contrast." Remember that a compare and contrast statement usually includes at least three similarities and three differences.
