You have looked at the impact of individual and contextual or social variables on mental health. You will focus on the social determinants of health. Imagine that you work at a community mental health center, and you notice that a particular minority group in your community is not accessing services compared to other minority groups. This troubles you, so you decide to do some reading on this group. You find literature that points to concerns with access to care and differing beliefs. You decide to share the research that you have found with your staff in a presentation at the weekly meeting. Prepare a presentation (e.g., PowerPoint) that addresses the following:
1. Synthesize your findings on the social determinants of mental health in a cultural group of your choice. Your cultural group should not be too general or too specific as that will help your ability to find six scholarly articles.
2. Describe the cultural group (e.g., relevant history of migration, beliefs, history of oppression).
3. Provide recommendations for reaching this cultural group to provide mental health services.
